Netflix has put together an ensemble for Munich conducted by Jeremy Irons (Guardians, Batman vs. Superman: The Dawn of Justice). The plot of the film is based on the novel of the same name by Robert Harris Bad Banks, Crown. The ensemble consists of a mix of British and German actors.
According to the new report, the cast also includes George McKay (1917), Yannis Nihwoner (Silent), Lisa Fris (Babylon Berlin), Erin Doherty (The Crown), Sandra Hüller (Toni Erdmann), August Diehl (A Hidden Life), Robert Bathurst (Downton Abbey) and Mark Limpache (Bad Banks). It should also be noted that Martin Wuttke will take over the role of Adolf Hitler, just as Wuttke previously played a role with the Inglurian bastards Quentin Tarantino. The film is set in 1938, when Europe was on the brink of war. The summary of the novel is as follows.
Hugh Legat, a rising star in the British Foreign Service, is Personal Secretary to Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain at 10 Downing Street. Paul von Hartmann is a member of the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is a secret member of the anti-Hitler resistance. These two men were friends in Oxford in the 1920s, but have not spoken since. Now that Hugh flies with Chamberlain from London to Munich and Hartmann takes Hitler’s train from Berlin at night, their tracks follow a catastrophic collision course.
Production is already underway and the film will be released in 2021. Ben Power wrote the screenplay for Hollow Crown. This is part of Netflix’ growing desire to publish more content in foreign languages. David Kosset has been appointed head of the International Film Streams. That’s what Kossa should have said in his statement about Munich.
Munich is the symbol of the film the band wanted to make since I got there. They are multilingual European films with a strong cast, strong directors, intellectual property that has a certain value in the different areas. We try to make films outside Europe, to a certain extent, that can travel.
Netflix has been lucky enough to have films in the past that were not in English. One of the most resounding examples was the film by Alfonso Cuaron Roma, who was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Picture category. The Spanish horror film platform has also been incredibly successful in terms of service. This makes it one of the top ten most viewed original films in society.
Munich is just one of the many European films that Netflix is currently shooting. The musical We were Songs by Spanish director Juana Masias is currently being produced in Italy, as is a French science fiction comedy called The Big Beetle. Jean-Claude Van Damme also starred in the French action/comedy film Last Mercenary, which ended the production, and in the book by Alexander Adji – O2. This includes the Italian comedy Rose Island, which will be released in December. This news is coming to us through a Hollywood reporter.
