James GordonHENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders were fined $500,000 in the sixth round of the 2021 draft, and coach John Gruden was fined another $150,000 by the NFL for calling ESPN a brutal and repeated violation of protocol [COVID-19] by a source.
The decision came after the Raiders had already received $250,000 and Gruden $100,000 for not wearing the mask properly when the team opened its home in the second week, and the team was fined another $50,000 for allowing access to the locker rooms after that game.
In addition, Darren Waller was fined $30,000 and got nine teammates, including quarterback Derek Carr, $15,000 each for playing in the fifth minute. On 10 October, they had attended a mask-less Walker Foundation charity event and mixed with the crowd.
Las Vegas imposed fines totaling $1,185 million for violations of COVID-19 protocols, and the Raiders were the first team to lose the design for the violations.

Last week Gruden, who took on the mantra of the overwhelming virus at a training camp, was outraged: The Raiders were imprisoned as a warning.
I am very proud of our organization and of what we have done, he said at the time. A lot has been written and said, I think, about some of the wrongs we’ve committed. We’re about to fight the virus. What we’ve done as an organization is first class.
