The Los Angeles Lakers just finished their 17th game. NBA Championship. It is clear that they have been the best team in the world from beginning to end and that they will strive to win back in the rings, but that is easier said than done when you know how many other teams expect to improve.
And part of the key to their success was the presence of a tall man who could repair the paint and relieve Anthony Davis of such tasks. But JaVale McGee is now entering the final year of his contract, and Dwight Howard will be a free agent.
With this in mind, the Los Angeles Lakers should pick up the phone and make a few phone calls to try to improve their chances at a central location where they have various options through a trading or free trade agency. Here we present to you the top ten candidates:
10. Aron Baines – Free desk
11.5 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.6 APG, 0.5 BPG
(via 7News)
Aaron Baines was faced with injuries at the end of the season, but because he was in good health, he was a big presence for the Phoenix Suns in the lower third, especially when Deandre Ayton was suspended. He even added a three-point series to his repertoire.
The Los Angeles Lakers won’t have to offer a lot of money to get Aron Baines behind bars, which is a good thing because they want to keep the chance to take further steps to improve their roster. He’s not exactly a shot blocker, but he can change some shots and he plays hard on both sides.
9. Derrick Favors – independent desk
9.0 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.6 APG, 0.9 BPG
(via slcdunk.com)
It is safe to say that Derrick Favors failed to get through almost half of the game as expected when he entered the league, but that was more due to injuries than to the game. If it is healthy, it turns out to be a major factor at both ends of the floor.
Favors has several cute moves on his post and can also dominate the attacking glass. It’s a bit small, and there may be some problems with the distance between him and Anthony Davis, but they still have to make it look like a cheap option.
8. Marc Gasol – Free Agency
7.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 3.3 APG, 0.9 BLK
Well, Mark Gasol is way past his peak and rumor has it that he will return to Barcelona, but he remains the most important newcomer to any championship team. He is one of the smartest players on the basketball court and has the versatility to give the Lakers productive minutes on the bench.
Gasoline is a former defensive player of the year with a softball hit. Since he joined the Toronto Raptors, he’s lost a lot of rhythm because he wasn’t needed in the attack. And again, he can give them enough to get them deep into the playoffs.
7. Jonas Valančiūnas – Trade
£14.9, £11.3, £1.9, £1.1 BLACK.
Memphis Grizzly made a strong push to make the playoffs last season, but reality finally knocked on their door. They are a promising team with a bright future, but they better join forces to form a competitive team around Jar Morant and Jarren Jackson Jr.
The L.A. Lakers could offer them Danny Greene, Quinn Cook and a pickaxe. The grizzlies will break the wage ceiling and land another property, and Danny Green will even defect to the challenger to land another brick. The Lakers, on the other hand, had placed an elite defender and physical presence at a low level.
6. Stephen Adams – Trade
£10.9, £9.3, £2.3, £1.1 BLACK.

Stephen Adams is one of the best players in the league. He’s an elite writer, a solid finisher and the best team player, and even if his attack is limited – to say the least – it would be wise to turn to him for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Oklahoma City Thunder is being rebuilt, so they are happy to be involved in the construction of sites that will soon be removed, such as Danny Green, Avery Bradley and Javal McGee. Moreover, Adams will be a free agent in 2021 and he would like to join the candidate.
5. Serge Ibaka – Open department
15.4 PG, 8.2 PG, 1.4 PG, 0.8 BLACK
Even though Sergei Ibaka is no longer the best blocker he ever was, he still has a devastating presence under the rim that can play in the middle, despite his small size. He is stronger than most great men, incredibly athletic, intelligent and has developed a point of honor.
Serge Ibaka even put his game on the line as a consecutive three-point shooter. He was able to provide a two-sided presence of the elite and greater versatility alongside Anthony Davis. Reportedly he is again interested in signing a contract with the Raptors, but he may be tempted to join a stronger team.
4. Tristan Thompson – Free Agency
12.0 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.9 BLK
Lebron James made sure Tristan Thompson was paid when they were teammates in the Cleveland Cavalry and now he can do the same. He’ll be a free agent, and we already know he has a strong relationship with the king.
Thompson has not been able to show his talent with the Cleveland Cavaliers lately, but he is one of the best offensive rebounders in the league. The Lakers only need him to give them more second chances and change a few shots, but we don’t know yet if he’ll take less money.
3. Hassan’s blank page – Free desk
15.5 PPG, 13.5 RPG, 1.2 APG, 2.9 BLK
(about the Rip City project)
Hassan Whiteside will become a free agent, and although there are serious concerns about his dynamism and feel for the game, he should attract a lot of attention because of his capabilities in the league, albeit with a strong reduction.
We all know that Whiteside can block high-speed shots and dominate both ends of the field. If he wants the Lakers nation to come to power, he’ll have to invest more in defense, because they won’t lack commitment.
2. Andre Drummond – Trade
17.7 PPG, 15.2 RPG, 2.7 APG, 1.4 BLK
Credit: American sport today
Andre Drummond will certainly choose his option, because no young player would give up this amount. However, it does not seem to be part of the future plans of the Cleveland Knights and they will probably try to postpone it.
Drummond is a young, strong, excellent defender and probably the best rebounder in the league. The Lakers can get it for Danny Greene, Avery Bradley and Javell McGee, who will help the Cavaliers raise their salaries if they continue to recover.
1. Rudi Robert – Trade
15.1 POUNDS, 13.5 POUNDS, 1.5 POUNDS, 2.0 POUNDS BLACK.
Rudy Robert is one of the greatest defending greats of all time. It’s one of the most dominant rim profiles we’ve seen lately and it also has the ability to stay on the periphery for smaller, faster players, so it will be the main pickup for the Lakers.
Los Angeles would have had to give up Danny Greene, Kyle Kuzma, Avery Bradley and the 28th National Team to keep him away from Utah Jazz, but that would only have worked if the rumors about his wish to leave the team and his feud with Donovan Mitchell had come true. It’s risky, but they have to try.
