So far, the day-to-day schedule has been fairly smooth. The only thing that can possibly mar the Olympics experience for the crowd is bad weather, which has never happened. At the moment, the Games are running relatively smoothly and should run well. However, a few challenges may pop up if a bad storm hits Tokyo in the next few days.
Bei Bei “Lauren” Price is a 21-year old from Montreal with a rather unusual surname. The young woman, however, seems to have left behind her troubles with her first name. Despite being a world junior champion, Price is not yet an Olympic gold medalist. In the women’s bantamweight boxing competition, she was leading the competition in the first rounds with a staggering 12-0 score. In the seventh round, however, she was hurt by her opponent, and ended up losing 13-11.
The 2012 Summer Olympic Games got underway in London, with the opening ceremony scheduled for Friday July 27. Representatives of nearly 200 countries were expected to take part in the opening ceremony, and the worldwide television audience was expected to be more than one billion people. The Games were expected to make a profit of around $2.5 billion, and the official logo was designed by Japanese design group Beda. Meanwhile, in the United States, the search for a major sponsor of the 2012 Games took a major turn when Credit Suisse said it would become a principal sponsor of the games.. Lauren Price, a middleweight boxer, has clinched a spot in the gold-medal fight at Tokyo 2020 after Great Britain won an Olympic medal in women’s hockey for the third time in a row.
With 16 gold medals, Team GB is in sixth place in the Tokyo medal standings.
On Friday, there are more possibilities for gold in athletics and cycling.
Britain has a total of 52 medals, including 18 silvers and 18 bronzes.
Team GB is hoping to finish ahead of Australia and the Russian Olympic Committee, who have won 17 and 16 gold medals respectively, with three days of play remaining.
On day 14, where might Team GB earn more medals?
Dina Asher-Smith is back after an injury forced her to withdraw from the 200m and 100m semi-finals, with the 25-year-old hoping to lead Britain to a relay medal in the women’s 4x100m relay final (14:30 BST).
Jodie Williams is optimistic about her prospects in the women’s 400m final (13:35), while Laura Muir is aiming for her maiden Olympic gold in the women’s 1500m (13:50).
Katie Archibald and Laura Kenny compete for Great Britain in the Madison at 09:15 on the velodrome.
Kenny, 29, has a chance to make history by becoming the first British woman to win gold in three Olympic Games. Any gold would put her on par with individual dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin, who has six medals and is the most decorated woman in the country.
Jack Carlin will compete for a bronze medal in the men’s sprint against Denis Dmitriev of the Russian Olympic Committee (10:00).
Carlin, 24, was defeated in the best-of-three semi-finals by Dutch world champion Harrie Lavreysen, who broke Jason Kenny’s nine-year run as Olympic champion on Thursday.
Price’s versatility was shown when he switched from football to boxing.

Price, 27, is a gifted and versatile athlete who has represented Wales in football and is a world champion kickboxer, with the Duke of Cambridge among her admirers.
Price, a former taxi driver, turned her entire attention to boxing after earning bronze in the middleweight division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
She is now the reigning world, Commonwealth, and European champion, with the Olympic crown up for grabs on Sunday.
Price advanced to the gold-medal round after a split decision victory against Dutch opponent Fontijn in the semi-finals.
“It’s insane,” Price, who has 52 caps for the senior Wales football team, said.
“Getting to the final is everyone’s goal, and I’m going to do all I can to bring home the gold.”
After a tumultuous five years, Great Britain wins a hockey medal.
Great Britain’s women’s hockey team won their first Olympic gold in Rio five years ago, in a moment that will go down in sports history.
However, after a tumultuous Olympic cycle, expectations were considerably lower heading into Tokyo.
Several important players have retired, including captain Kate Richardson-Walsh and forward Alex Danson, as well as injuries to other key players and the departure of head coach Danny Kerry to take over the men’s team.
They were crushed 8-0 by the Netherlands in 2019 and needed to win a two-legged qualifier against Chile to even qualify for Tokyo.
“There haven’t been many highs, so this cycle hasn’t been too much of a rollercoaster,” skipper Hollie Pearne-Webb told Sport.
“Olympic bronze was not even in our wildest thoughts a few months ago.”
