Mads Mikkelsen has not yet told Johnny Depp about his work as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. Coordinated by David Yates, the film is the third part of the Fantastic Beasts series, a prelude to the creation of Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. The film is set in Berlin, Germany and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s a little later, Fantastic Beasts: The crimes of Grindelwald. In the first two Fantastic Beasts films, Johnny Depp was chosen to play the incredible, charming and dark witch Gellert Grindelwald, who threatens the world of wizards. Shortly after Depp’s departure, messages surfaced that Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen was about to replace Depp. Although Mikkelsen initially denied these assumptions, Warner Bros. officially confirmed his plans for the position in December. Mikkelsen has just started shooting Fantastic Beasts 3, and in a few recent meetings he also opened on the release of Depp from the film. In a recent interview with AP Entertainment, Mikkelsen confirmed that he had not yet approached Depp to play Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. Mikkelsen says he doesn’t understand Depp very well and that he only met him once. Although he wants nothing more than to contact an animator to investigate the character, he doesn’t have his phone number.

Although Mikkelsen has no contact with Depp, he tries to respect everything Depp has put into the Grindelwald character. Mikkelsen’s system for Fantastic Beasts 3 is to link what he [Depp] has done and what he will do in the new movie. Mikkelsen himself thinks his character will be in the film and expects his fans to appreciate his work. Earlier, Mikkelsen had already indicated that he was looking for a link between his role and an earlier adaptation of the character.
