Bucs Reveal Surprising Jerseys & Uniforms for the Super Bowl

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will wear white jerseys during the Super Bowl.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not wear their red jerseys in the Super Bowl game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bucs are well on their way and will once again be wearing white jerseys and tin pants. It’s the same look the Buccaneers had on their surprising wins over the Saints and Packers in the preliminaries.

There was hope that the Buccaneers would get back their signature red jersey, worn in the franchise’s only Super Bowl victory over the Raiders in 2003. The Bucs lost to a Chiefs team last week, so the franchise advances to the second round. Many Bucs fans also want cream-colored uniforms, but as Jenna Laine of ESPN explains, that won’t be possible until the NFL allows teams to play with multiple helmets.

I may have to put this at the top of my profile, given the number of times I’ve tweeted, posted and Facebooked about it, Lane joked on Twitter. The Bucks can’t wear cream to the Super Bowl. NFL safety rules require that the same tin helmets be worn throughout the season. Don’t go on the ice.

Brady and Arians want Bucs to bring back ice uniforms

Fans aren’t the only ones who want the Buccaneers jersey back, as Bruce Arians and Tom Brady have both expressed support for the Creamsicle look. In a March 2020 interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Arians suggested that a change in NFL rules might allow the team to bring back Bucco Bruce cream seats and helmets.

I think if the helmet rule changes next year, we could have Creams and Throws, which I think are the best uniforms in the league, Arians said, according to TampaBay.com.

Brady also called on the Pirates in September to get the Orange back. The quarterback scored the Bucs in an Instagram article in September.

Bring back the @Buccaneers creams, Brady noted, along with a photo of an orange sunset in Florida.

Beech invincible in white and tin

The Bucs are working a little superstition into their wardrobe choices for the Super Bowl. This season, Tampa Bay was unbeatable in a combination of white jersey and pewter pants.

The Bucs’ white jerseys are paired with pewter pants and black socks, as reported by Carmen Vitali of Buccaneers.com. Tampa Bay has worn the suit five times this year, including the regular season and postseason. And, uh..: The Bucs won every time. They started off Week 6 at home for the first time with a dominant win over the Green Bay Packers. Physically, the last time they put on a jersey was in the aforementioned postseason game against the Packers, this time at Lambeau for the NFC Championship, and it was another win.

The Buccaneers, who will be the first team to play the Super Bowl in their own stadium, will put their team’s unbeaten streak to the test. Kansas City will wear its trademark red shirt against the Pirates.
