For a player nicknamed CP3, Chris Paul has certainly had a lot of injuries over the years. He has been plagued by concussions and knee problems since his time in the NBA, and it seems like concussion isn’t the only one that haunts him. CP3 is likely to appear in his 20th straight postseason this year, a streak that would break an NBA record and is almost unheard of by any point guard, making his postseason curse even more remarkable.
The Los Angeles Clippers have a bright future and will be a well-deserving #1 seed in the NBA Playoffs. Chris Paul is one of the best Point Guards of all time and will definitely carry the team to an NBA Championship. However, there is a huge question mark hovering over Paul’s health. Paul has suffered a lot of injuries in his career and this has been a huge blow to his career.
There will be no more questions about who will be the next NBA MVP — it will be Chris Paul. The Los Angeles Lakers sharpshooter was brilliant throughout the entire series, and he will likely be MVP for the third season in a row.. Read more about who does chris paul play for and let us know what you think.LOS ANGELES – Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams knows what’s wrong with star point guard Chris Paul just by looking at his face.
There’s the look on Paul’s face when he wants to play – something between total control and a willingness to throw himself into any fight – and there’s the look he had the entire first round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers when he couldn’t play because of another painful and untimely injury.
I’m going to look at his face and see if I see the same look I usually see on his face at night, Williams said before the Suns’ 109-95 defeat against the Lakers on Thursday night, giving them a 2-1 lead in the series. I won’t put him in danger.
It doesn’t matter how many Kobe Bryant quotes and videos Paul quotes.
As difficult as it is for the 36-year-old to see a seemingly golden opportunity to win a championship slip away at the end of his career.

Despite their seventh-place finish and the many questions about their health, chemistry and consistency in their play, the Lakers were always the favorites to take on the second-place Suns.
But the story of this series so far has been Paul’s shoulder injury, not the Lakers’ return to championship form.
It is what it is: You control what you can control, Paul said. I know I’m doing everything I can every day to prepare for the race. If something happens, it happens. You have to overcome them and get through them.
Time is running out for Paul and the Suns to heal and regain the confidence with which they entered the playoffs. But it’s a bad movie that Paul has been through too many times in his Hall of Fame career.
During the 2018 Western Conference Finals, Paul suffered from his hamstring as the Houston Rockets put the pressure on the Golden State Warriors. This follows a hamstring injury that sidelined Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers in 2015, a broken hand in 2016 and then a broken foot from teammate Blake Griffin in 2017.
So many wounds, each so cruelly programmed.
I’m probably not the right person to talk about violent things. I know what cruelty is, so it’s just basketball, Williams said, referring to the car accident that killed his wife, Ingrid, in 2016. I know how much he wants to win, but at the end of the day, if we get paid for what we do, you have a beautiful wife and kids and a Hall of Fame career.
He handled those things well and I have no doubt that Chris will come out of it stronger and better. But what we’re going through right now isn’t the worst thing in the world. Now, when it comes to his career and his legacy, it’s hard, and I understand that. It’s hard to be where he is and play like he did for us and not be able to play at the highest level. But Chris is psychologically strong – he can handle it and helps us well.
Paul looked better in the first half of Thursday’s game than he did in the second half of Tuesday’s game. He was able to make some of his trademark mid-range shots and fight for rebounds and loose balls.

But in the second period, he was himself – he didn’t touch a puck in over eight minutes. He appeared to be injured when he collided with Cameron Payne after a missed free throw by LeBron James with 10 minutes and 26 seconds left in the game.
Paul bent over at the waist, clearly pained after being hit in the groin with his knee, but he stayed in the game for another minute before Williams took him out for good with 9:34 remaining in the game and the Suns trailing by two points.
Paul scored just seven points and six assists in 27 minutes.
The Suns provided good support when their captain and MVP candidate was weakened after suffering a shoulder bruise in Game 1. But it’s not what the team with the second-best record in the league was hoping for – its first playoff appearance in 11 years.
I think we lost our composure a little bit today and we need to find our focus again, said Payne, who had 15 points, six assists and four steals. I feel like we have to be more aggressive and play the full 48 minutes of basketball against the Phoenix Suns.
The third game was a terrible defensive game for both teams. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Suns’ and the Lakers’ 83 points in the first half were the fewest by either team in a half this season. The second half of the game wasn’t much better if you’re used to the type of exuberant offense that has been prevalent in the NBA this season.
But at least the Lakers found a superstar to carry them, as Anthony Davis scored 34 points with 11-of-22 shooting and 11 rebounds despite hyperextending his left knee.
Davis became the fifth Lakers player in team history to score at least 30 points and grab 10 rebounds in consecutive postseason games, alongside Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Elgin Baylor.
On Thursday, the Lakers tried to get the ball to Davis as often as possible and attack the rim. According to Second Spectrum, Davis’ 16 touches in the paint – the second most in a game since he joined the Lakers two seasons ago – led to 24 Lakers points.
Thursday night was the first home game in the playoffs for the Lakers since 2013. Last season, they won the title in the NBA bubble at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The Staples Center was exactly what was needed, Davis said. It will be even louder at full power, but that’s what we want. We ate a lot today. The crowd was loud and gave us extra energy to make shots, defend and ultimately win the game.
James totaled 21 points, nine assists and six rebounds as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle that cost him 27 games.
