Thomas is currently a television analyst for the NBA and plays many different roles in basketball.
After winning two NBA championships with the Detroit Pistons, where he averaged 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game, Thomas retired from basketball in the mid-1990s and moved to the basketball front.
In 1995 Thomas became the first general manager of the Toronto Raptors in Toronto and was not part of the original group of team members.
After working with the Raptors, Thomas became head coach of the Indiana Paceurs. The National Champion, led by Head Coach Bob Knight as a member of the Indiana Hushiers, replaced Thomas Larry Byrd, who had formed the Pacers before the Eastern Conference title. Thomas set a record for the Pacers – 48-34 in the regular season – and coached the Eastern Conference team in the 2003 NBA All-Star Game.
The Pacers were placed third in the first round of the playoffs by the sixth-seeded Boston Celtics who included Germaine O’Neill, Brad Miller, Ron Artest, Al Harrington and Jamaal Tinsley, as well as veteran Reggie Miller. Larry Bird unconditionally relieved Thomas of his coaching duties and became President of Pacers basketball operations. A bird named Rick Carlisle to replace Thomas.
On Heavy Live With Scoop B Thomas and I discussed the formation of the Agayist Lakers, the great man Shakull O’Neill and our late great teammate Kobe Bryant. Bryant died in a plane crash on Sunday the 26th. In January, nine people, including Bryant’s daughter Gigi, were killed.
I’ve trained against them, and I think I’ve been the same, Thomas said.
I was alone and one against her. We beat them in Los Angeles, and I remember the last game.
Thomas emphasized his coach’s experience against Phil Jackson. Now he [Phil Jackson] makes a diagnosis at the end of the game, and now I’m training against him and I think I know he thinks I’m going to Kobe and the Shack, said Thomas.

But if we play him, I know he’s going to play for Lamar Odom, not Shack or Kobe, because he did it for Pippen when he beat us twice as a player, he added.
So if you knew the trends of the coaches, the trends of the players you knew who played against Shak and Kobe, it was just a nightmare, they were just too good for the league. At that time they were both the dominant centre and the dominant actor in the periphery.
Mr. Thomas added:
