Baby boomers, Gen X, Gen Z, millennials, the list goes on and on – but which category do you belong to and what does it all mean?
Whether it’s Millennials being told not to use emojis or Gen Z claiming to be the new TikTok craze, the different generations are always arguing.
A recent study found that Gen Z is struggling to trust the blockchain, while Millennials are spending more and more money on parties.
But what does it all mean?
What is a millennium?
Millennials can also be called Generation Y, because they follow Generation X and precede Generation Z.

Millennials are between the ages of 25 and 40, meaning they were born between 1981 and 1996.
They are often seen as a generation that struggles to pay for an education and buy a home, and they are also associated with spending money on lawyers and travel.

Gen Z, also known as Zoomers, are the youngest of today’s generations and are generally associated with social media and technology wizards.
They are known for their love of TikTok and environmental activism (Gen Z’s most famous eco-warrior is Greta Thunberg).
Generation Z has also been making headlines lately with their toupees and skinny jeans.
Generation Z-ers were born between 1997 and 2012 and are currently between 9 and 24 years old.
The generation after Z is called the Alpha Generation and refers to all people born after 2012.
What is the age of Generation X?.
The estimated birth dates of Generation X are between 1965 and 1980, so the current population in this category is 41 to 56 years old.
This generation is credited with the ability to combine a strong work ethic with a calm work attitude.
They are also associated with the popularity of punk, indie, grunge and techno music genres.

While there is no definitive list for each category, the ages and birth dates of each generation can be extrapolated to 2021 as follows:
