It has already been an amazing game, it is the best version of it and it’s a game that have every reason to be the best version of it. But who cares about that? The best reason to play it is this new feature of VF5 that has been added to it, which is the online mode.
The VF series has always been a popular series in Asia and Japan, and for good reason. It has a unique art style, nice soundtrack, and interesting characters, all of which are present in this latest installment. The game itself is a competent fighting game that is fun for both casual fighters and those with more hardcore fight game tendencies.

Sega has been doing a lot of work lately to open its vault of classic games and give them a second life. Streets of Rage 4 was a big win in this regard, as was Panzer Dragoon: The remake managed to breathe new life into the Sega Saturn gem. Other Sega IP remakes on the horizon include the House of the Dead remake, the Panzer Dragoon II Zwei remake, and the Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX remake. The biggest comeback of the franchise in the annals of Sega is back, and it never looked so good. Virtua Fighter’s long hiatus has finally come to an end, thanks to the unexpected arrival of an updated version of the fifth entry in the series. Thank the gaming gods that Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown has become a reality! 
Sega If you’ve already spent countless hours with Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown (and are probably still playing it), then you already know how effective the game’s battles are. Virtua Fighter is the penultimate game against which all 3D action games have always been and will always be pitted: The easy to learn, but difficult to master combat mechanics make it one of the best games of its kind. Each character’s fighting skills are amazingly fluid, and they look and sound impressive, as you’d expect. As with the previous version of this fighter, the tutorial and team play modes allow you to learn the basic, intermediate and advanced tools you need to take a chance against the pros playing online. After a while, it becomes second nature to perform clever aerial combat combos, understand each character’s specialization, get in the habit of dodging sideways, etc. Winning all those passionate offline/online matches is still incredibly satisfying after all this time. The increased use of impact sparks and an all-new user interface make the on-screen experience even more immersive than before. And thanks to the impeccable graphics work of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Virtua Fighter 5 takes visual perfection to a new level. The entire party now looks great and fights in upgraded versions of every fighting arena in the game. Virtua Fighter has always been a graphical masterpiece in the field of fighting games. Fortunately, this honor is still intact. However, there are still a few instances where the characters’ facial animations look a little strange (Eileen’s victory animation still looks a little strange when her face appears). But overall, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is fantastic. 
Sega This revamped action movie comes with the bare minimum of what you can expect from an action movie these days. Offline arcade and Versus are already in place, and the game’s extensive online gameplay set provides stiff competition. The omission of the Kumite and Quest modes from the original Virtua Fighter 5 is more than welcome – it would have been nice to see these offline modes retained so players could use them when they need a break from online competition. One of the biggest advantages of the available game modes is how much you can customize your character. The variety of clothing options will drive you crazy to make your fighter look as cool as possible. And with retro 3D character and scene models and the ability to play titles from previous Virtua Fighter games, Ultimate Showdown offers even more elements to customize to your taste. 
Sega If you’re worried that the lack of backtracking netcode in this game will affect network performance, don’t worry. Final Shodown’s lag-based netcode worked better than most, and still does well. The games are generally balanced and you’ll rarely come across games that look like a powerpoint presentation. Considering that this update is supposed to bring Virtua Fighter back to the forefront of the esports scene, the surprisingly strong online performance is a blessing.
Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown
Sega It’s great to see Virtua Fighter 5 again. In the Ultimate Showdown update, the game’s graphics are even more impressive than before, thanks to an improved rendering of all characters and their corresponding levels. The use of rhythm sparks, an all-new user interface, and the addition of old school visual styles and music add even more features to this long-awaited update. Online connectivity during matches works better than expected, so you can expect battles against a range of national and international players without too much delay. The sterile structure of the modes and the lack of new fighters is definitely a disappointment. But everything else this update offers makes it worth returning or diving into the game for the first time. VIRTUA FIGHTER IS OFFICIALLY BACK, BABY!
