Trick ‘r Treat Director Shares Original Concept Art from the Cult Halloween Movie

The life of Michael Doherty’s Halloween Trick ‘r Treat showed incredible resilience for a film that the studio didn’t believe in and had been on the back burner for years. Eventually released directly on video in 2007, the film continues to lead a life of its own, produces the official merchandise, the Halloween Nights of the Horror Rides and continues to talk about the sequel. Godzilla: The director of King of the Monsters took part in the live online broadcast of Watchalong and revealed new details about the film’s production, including many of the film’s original and terrifying art concepts.

Doherty also discovered the development of his idea of the Sam character through revelation: It always bothered me that there was no mascot as special for Halloween as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny with the Easter Bunny, which is part of the origin of Sam’s idea. There have always been a lot of icons around Halloween: Witches, vampires, ghosts, black cats. But he always seemed to need something that really captured his strange mind. That strange childlike mixture of fear and wonder.

He moved on: I’ve always felt sorry for Linus. Wait all night in a pumpkin field until the mysterious Great Pumpkin rises. Always knowing he’ll be disappointed in the end. But what if Linus was right? Was the Great Pumpkin or its equivalent real? What if there really is a Halloween spirit? For centuries he left the pumpkin patch every year and wandered the streets as a child in orange pajamas. To make sure we follow the rules of the party. That we respect the dead… Because Halloween is what Halloween really means. Tribute to those who have been there. Because it’s the only night they can visit…

If you want to keep the Halloween atmosphere going all weekend, you can listen to Trick’r Treat’s annual treat diary, with links to the movie and the Jack O’Lantern flashlight front and back that looks just like Sam himself.

If we get Trick ‘r Treat 2, we will have to wait and see because Dougherty and the company announced the sequel in October 2013, but since then there have been only sporadic updates. said Douterty in his annual update on the subject last year: Look, I’m fascinated by the idea, and it depends entirely on the legend. We’ve been talking about this for a couple of years now and since then there’s been a regime change. They still own the property and they love it, and there is a long row of estates and a continuous line of filmstrips, but the ball is in their court. When they show their interest and are ready to leave, we will see if the stars are favorable.
