The Sony brand announced that the adventures of Lara Croft will make the leap to service in January. But the treasure hunter won’t be alone, because Greedy Falls and the Man Who Devours are also in the game. But for many social media players the real story is Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that the Crystal Dynamics series is still going on. Many questioned the races when the first reboot was announced, and now they are considered a must-have. Aaron Greenberg of Microsoft spoke with Kinda Funny Games about the game in 2017. He didn’t seem to worry about his influence, and his continued interest in these games seemed to indicate that he was right.

The challenge is to look at the production schedule. They want to make sure they don’t rush the game so that it doesn’t become unfinished or of poor quality, Greenberg said. It’s always the first priority. Tomb Raider’s challenge is that if you’re a week late, you’ll take on the Star Wars battle front; if you’re a week early, you’ll take on Call of Duty Black Ops III; if you’re two weeks early, you’ll take on Halo 5. And then you’re late and you say: Does the consumer still have money to buy the game? So there was no best scenario for us, except the week in which we did not compete with Call of Duty or Star Wars Battlefront.

Without ruining the story, Shadow of the Tomb Raider has done a phenomenal job by involving the player in Lara’s mission. His experience was important and his choices were – sometimes – intriguing. With the well-known fighting style of the previous two games and a worldview expanded by Croft itself, the third and final story will appeal to adventurous gamers. Fans of the Tomb Raider and Uncharted series will find endless adventures, dangers to overcome and philosophies to discover.
