The first trailer for Jordan Peele’s follow up to Get Out has been released, and it’s out of this world. To be clear, the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the movie, and that’s just fine with Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer. The 32-year-old Kaluuya (best known for his role as Michael Myers in the 2017 remake of Halloween) stars as a security guard who befriends an aspiring DJ (Palmer) at a remote house in the woods in the middle of nowhere. But when she invites him to her party, Kaluuya realizes he’s in for a wild ride when he finds he may not be who he thinks he is.
‘Get Out’ and ‘The Shape of Water’ director Jordan Peele has a new movie coming out this year, and yet again, we have absolutely no idea what it’s about. That’s because Peele has literally kept his cards close to his chest—in fact, he hasn’t even revealed the title of his current project.
Strange, right? We just got a new Jordan Peele-directed horror movie and it’s starring the two most famous African-American actors of our time. As if that weren’t strange enough, the movie is titled Us and stars Winston Duke (Evan Peters’ On the Basis of Sex co-star) and Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave, Black Panther), as two friends who travel to a secluded cabin in the woods to play in a scary video game.
Jordan Peele has announced the title of his third feature film as a filmmaker, and it’s simply titled Nope. Peele tweeted a picture of the official poster for the film on Thursday, but he didn’t elaborate. The word Nope may be seen in all-caps on the poster, along with the names of three cast members. At the bottom, there’s a release date of July 22, 2022 —- precisely one year from today —- as well as a guarantee that it’ll only be distributed in cinemas.

The poster has Peele’s name at the top and promotes the film as “a new horror from the imagination of Academy Award winner Jordan Peele.” The primary cast members of Nope, which stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun, have also been announced. Peele previously collaborated with Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out, for which the actor was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. Kaluuya just received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah.
Minari has been nominated for an Academy Award. Steven Yeun is being considered for the lead role in Jordan Peele’s next film.
Meanwhile, Keke Palmer’s sitcom Keke Palmer’s Turnt Up with The Taylors was just nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy or Drama. For co-hosting the chat program Strahan, Sara, and Keke, she was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy. Palmer also presented the MTV Video Music Awards last year. She has featured in films such as Madea’s Family Reunion, Shrink, and Hustlers as an actor. True Jackson, VP, Winx Club, Scream Queens, Berlin Station, and Scream are among her numerous small screen credits.
Rounding out Nope’s main cast is another Academy Award nominee. Steven Yeun, who’s very well known for his breakout role as Glenn Rhee on The Walking Dead, has gone on to star in movies like Okja, Mayhem, and Sorry to Bother You. He’s also a voice actor with main roles in the animated shows Final Space, Tuca & Bertie, and Invincible. For his role in Lee Isaac Chung’s acclaimed drama Minari, Yeun was nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards, becoming the first Asian-American actor to receive the honor.
We may not learn much more about Nope in the near future, since Jordan Peele has typically been tight-lipped about his films before to release. Peele created the screenplay and also acts as director and producer, according to what we know. Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions’ Ian Cooper is also producing. The project will be overseen by Universal’s senior vice president of production Sara Scott and creative executive Tony Ducret.
Before becoming a movie director, Peele was best recognized for his work in comedy. He made his directorial debut in 2017 with the critically acclaimed Get Out. Despite his comedic background, the film’s success immediately positioned Peele as a director to be taken seriously in Hollywood, earning him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. When his follow-up, Us, was released in 2019, it too received a lot of praise from critics and made a lot of money at the box office.
The film Nope is set to hit cinemas on July 22, 2022. With a year before the film’s release, it’s impossible to predict when Peele will provide any fresh information. Jordan Peele has provided us with a new poster.
Nope is the topic.
In a recent video from Mashable’s Jack Maynard, Jordan Peele revealed that his next directorial project is called “Us”, and the curious teaser poster (seen above) features a character who has been cut in half, with the lower body being Daniel Kaluuya’s and the upper half being Keke Palmer’s. If you put the two halves together, they form what looks like a guy with a terrible case of bedhead, staring blankly into the distance. We’ve reached out to Peele’s rep for comment, but we’re guessing that “Bedhead” is the name of his next horror movie.. Read more about jordan peele movies 2020 and let us know what you think.
