Lifetime Married At First Sight returns for its 12th season. Season in Atlanta, with a three-hour opening night on the 13th. January.
That’s according to the season’s press release: Season 12 will be the most romantic, the most varied and the most surprising: Ten brave but loveless bachelors meet their new partner at the altar and enter into a legally binding marriage at first sight. One of the bride and groom is approaching 40, the other is divorced (both joining MAFS for the first time), and a new engagement is being renewed in a journey where the stakes are always high.
While some marriages survive, one couple is faced with a bombshell that no one saw coming. Throughout the season, two-hour episodes will air each week to trace the emotional journey of each couple, from marriage to honeymoon, from early brooding to the daily challenges of working on their marriage. After a few weeks together, each couple must make a decision: Do they stay happy together or do they decide to separate and divorce?
According to a Lifetime press release, the season 12 couples are:
Briana and Vincent
Briana (28) is done with dating and is ready to find her soul mate. With a man chosen just for her, she wants to start the next chapter of her life, share her experiences and build an empire. She loves that MAFS experts match candidates with a partner who is not only compatible, but also shares the same core values. Briana is committed to the experiment and is willing to give her all.
Vincent (27) was ready to get married in a previous relationship, but his partner was not. Despite his sadness, he did not give up the dream of happiness forever. Vincent doesn’t hold back when it comes to his feelings, and he’s eager to enlist the help of MAFS experts to help him get the girl of his dreams. He embraces his Dominican culture, loves music and is ready to find a salsa partner for life.
Clara and Ryan
Clara’s last relationship (27 years) did not go as planned and she was forced to reconsider her future. She wants to start the next chapter of her life and has no interest in dating. Clara wants to marry at first sight because she believes in fate and that everything happens for a reason. She is willing to give everything she has to the process.
Ryan (29) is ready to get married and is definitely a man! His parents have been married for over three decades and Ryan feels that his father has modeled what an understanding husband and father should be. Ryan hopes the experts find him a woman to start a family with and that his parents’ dream of becoming grandparents will finally come true.
Haley and Jacob
Hayley (28) owns a home, has a dog she loves and is supported by an extensive network of close friends. She is more than willing to get competent help in finding a loyal and reliable partner. Haley admits to having trust issues and would have benefited from the help she received during the Married at First Sight process. She believes that professional advice during these critical first weeks of marriage will allow her to break down the walls to find happiness and longevity in her marriage.
Jacob (38) is tired of dating men. He wants kids and knows he’s not getting any younger. James already believes that arranged marriages tend to be more successful than traditional marriages. Therefore, the possibility of getting married at first sight is a win-win situation for him. He seeks a deep and meaningful connection and loves the idea of working with experts who share the same goal. I hope they help him find the happy ending he was looking for.
Paige and Chris
Paige (25) is determined to break the generational curse in her family and be the first to have a successful marriage. When she was 22, she bought her own house. She is stable in her career and ready to start the next chapter of her life and become a woman. She wants to get married at first sight because she really believes in the process and trusts the experts to find the right man for her.
Chris (27) dreamed of getting married at a young age. Raised by preachers, he firmly believes in the power of prayer. He knows that God will bring him a wife, and he is sure that marriage at first sight is a sign of prayer. Together with his wife, he wants to leave an inheritance for the many children he wants to have!
Virginia and Eric
Virginia (26) has not had the best of relationships in the past, but she has grown much stronger as a person and has learned from each failed partnership. She is at a point in her life where she can confidently say she is ready for marriage. Virginia realizes she has a history of self-destructive relationships and is ready to overcome her fears and embrace love.
Eric (34) has long been ready to get married and since he is already married, he doesn’t want to waste time looking for the right partner. Eric has accomplished everything in his life and is ready to start the next chapter with his family.
