Making-of Shaun of the Dead Gets Chronicled in You’ve Got Red on You Book This October

As promised, there will be another website chronicling the making of Shaun of the Dead. This time, it’s You’ve Got Red on You, an illustrated book chronicling the making of Shaun of the Dead and the making of the sequel. I took a week off from blogging to write this. My life has been busy as hell, so I decided to take a few days to recharge. I’ve been on a high ever since the new year, getting more and more involved in making films. Soon enough, I’ll be in the UK for the first time since 2011. I’ll be meeting up with the rest of the cast and crew, and we’ll set out in search of another Shaun. Of course, we won’t get that

This is one of those rare occasions when a book actually got made by an amateur filmmaker, and not by Hollywood. The You’ve Got Red on You , by Shaun of the Dead producer Edgar Wright, is a very funny and nerdy read, detailing the making of the film as well as the film itself.

The U.S. is in an arms race. We are in an arms race with space, we’re in an arms race between our defense budgets, we’re in an arms race with the rest of the world. And we often forget that we’re in another arms race of our own.. For the project, Collis interviewed dozens of Shaun of the Dead crew members, including director Edgar Wright, producer Neera Park, actors Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kate Ashfield, Bill Nagy, Lucy Davis and Coldplay singer Chris Martin, as well as many extras who played zombies in the film. They’ve all helped shape the story of Shaun of the Dead, from its beginnings as an idea from co-writers Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg in the backseat of a taxi to the film’s current status as a globally beloved popular cultural phenomenon. The book also includes commentary from many of the film’s famous fans, including directors Quentin Tarantino, Eli Roth and Zack Snyder, as well as The Walking Dead’s executive producer Greg Nicotero. The Shaun of the Dead team initially struggled to find financial backing for the film, with directors objecting to the script’s combination of horror, romance and British humor. Made on a relatively modest budget, the film became a box office success and cult classic after exhaustive shooting in London. Sean’s film launched the careers of almost everyone involved, including director Edgar Wright, stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and producer Neera Park. Wright and producer Park only have two films coming out in 2021: the music documentary The Sparks Brothers and the psychological thriller Last Night in Soho, and Pegg will soon reprise his role as Benji Dunn in Mission: Impossible 7. APPROPRIATE: Ohio protesters photo goes viral Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite movies, and I thought I knew everything there was to know about it, says author Collis. I couldn’t have been more wrong. You’ve Got Red on You is filled with untold stories of the struggles, battles and near-disasters that took place behind the scenes. But it’s also the story of a bunch of friends who made a dream movie about people fighting zombies in a London pub and found that the dream was accepted by audiences around the world. I hope people enjoy reading it as much as writing it. Tuesday the 19th. The collection also includes more than 70 storyboards, handwritten brainstorming notes from Pegg and Wright, and snapshots. Most of these documents come directly from the personal archives of the actors and crew members. A first limited edition of You’ve Got Red on You will be released on the 19th.
