Recent World of Outlaws Series champion driver Chase Elliott has unveiled a surprise for the fans of Darlington Raceway. Elliott will be participating in this years Darlington race in a special scheme that will be unveiled at the track. The scheme will feature an Elliott Motorsports car with a special paint scheme that will be unveiled before the race. The scheme will feature Elliott’s signature colors, red and white, and will also include Elliott’s signature stripes on the car.

Everything came together for the No. 19 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota Camry driver when the No. 1 Chevrolet of Furniture Row Racing teammates T.J. Bell and Cole Custer collided with each other on lap 127. Elliott was on the race track at the time and was able to avoid the wreck at the final caution flag. “I’m just kind of taking it all in right now,” Elliott said. “The whole race, I was just trying to look for victory lane. We’re leading the points so we’re going to take it to Texas and win that race. We’ll see what happens. I haven’t really thought about anything else but running our best

American racing fans have been waiting for this day. Last Wednesday evening, NASCAR’s top rookie driver, Chase Elliott, finally unveiled his special scheme for the Pepsi 400 at the Darlington Raceway. The young driver, who has already won both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Sprint Cup in his short career, will be sporting a unique paint job: his car will be painted in pink, in reaction to a domestic violence awareness campaign started by former Miss America and Survivor star, Ree Drummond.

The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion will debut a completely new NAPA paint scheme at Darlington for the opening of the playoffs. Chase Elliott teamed up with his longstanding sponsor, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, to launch a campaign to raise awareness about childhood cancer during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Eight patients from the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Hospital submitted drawings for the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro, according to a news release from Hendrick Motorsports. The black and gold scheme that Elliott will show off at the Cook Out Southern 500 in Darlington is the result of this joint effort. The defending champion will also wear a specially created firesuit, gloves, helmet, and shoes by the patients.

“September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, as some of you may know,” Elliott stated in a video on Wednesday, Aug. 18. “To commemorate this, the Chase Elliott Foundation, NAPA Auto Parts, and Hendrick Motorsports have chosen to give the [No.] 9 vehicle a complete makeover for the race weekend in Darlington on September 5th.

“A group of brave children assisted us in creating some incredible artwork to give us this fresh, new appearance. And many of the things that will be utilized throughout the race weekend will be auctioned off to assist Children’s continue to provide excellent care to their children as they have for many years.”

The initiative will be supported by all four Hendrick drivers.

Elliott will not be the only member of the team who will work hard to ensure that the “DESI9N TO DRIVE” campaign gets off to a good start. Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson, and William Byron are all set to appear in the film. They will wear custom-made shoes created by Children’s patients. These limited-edition sneakers will then be auctioned off to help those in need.

Elliott said in the HMS statement, “I appreciate my colleagues being a part of and receptive to supporting our cause.” “It’s been a fantastic bargain. Every year that we’ve done it, it’s been a success, and people have enjoyed themselves. Their participation has helped it grow, and I’ve always appreciated that.”

Starting on September 2, all four pairs of shoes, as well as Elliott’s complete Darlington attire, will be auctioned off by the NASCAR Foundation on eBay. Fans have until Sept. 8 to bid on the limited-edition goods. The Chase Elliott Foundation will receive 100% of the profits from the auction, which will support the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s.

Since launching his “DESI9N TO DRIVE” campaign, Elliott has had a significant effect on Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In the four years since its inception, this program has collected more than $160,000 in contributions.

Two Races Remain Until the Playoffs & the Scheme’s Debut

The unique scheme was just a digital tease when Elliott and HMS announced it on Aug. 18. Fans will not be able to witness the stock vehicle in action until the regular season concludes.

Elliott must first finish races at Michigan International Speedway and Daytona International Speedway in order to get the most points. He already has a playoff place secured with to victories at Circuit of the Americas and Road America, but he still has to rack up some points before the playoffs begin.

All 16 drivers’ baseline points are reset to 2,000 once the chase starts. Any additional points gained via race or stage victories are subsequently added to this total by NASCAR. Elliott is expected to enter the playoffs with 2,017 points, fourth highest in the Cup Series, according to current projections. Larson is expected to get 2,052 points, while Martin Truex Jr. is expected to score 2,024 points. Kyle Busch is expected to score 2,022 points in the playoffs.

During the Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway, Elliott will have another chance to add to his total. On Sunday, Aug. 22, at 3 p.m. ET, the FireKeepers Casino 400 will take place. The action will be televised on NBC Sports Network as the bubble drivers compete for the last two playoff berths.
