Alabama Crimson Tide boast six AP first-team All-Americans

The Heisman Trophy finalists, Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith, were selected from the Associated Press All-America team, which leads a contingent of five players from Alabama for the attack of the first team.

The other members of the first team were Crimson Tide back Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood, tackler, and Landon Dickerson, center fielder. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. 1 Alabama is the first team since 1980, when the AP All-American team started with two wide receivers and two running backs, to place a quarterback, a running back and a receiver on the first team.

Cornerback Patrick Stein II dropped six selections from the first team at the Red Tide, the biggest in the country. Number 4 Notre Dame, the football rival of Alabama College this weekend, has two first-division Americans in their offensive guard, Aaron Banks and linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoa.

Kyle Trask of Florida was named the second quarterback of the team and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson was named the third quarterback of the AP team in Monday’s game. Lawrence, the likely first choice of the next NFL draft, is an All-American AP for the first time in his career.

Number 2 Clemson, who will face number 3 Ohio State in the semifinals of the CFP Sugar Bowl on Friday-evening, had selected only one player from the All-American teams: Running back Travis Etienne was named after the first team of all-rounders. The senior has been second team All-American for the past two seasons. The state guard of Ohio, Wyatt Davis, is the only player to return to the first All-American team in 2019. Davis is one of the two Buckeyes of the first team, with the Sean Wade corner.
