(AP) SAN FRANCISCO — The major-league-leading San Francisco Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0 on Thursday in the last game of a three-game series after Brandon Crawford doubled home two runs in his first at-bat after returning from a left oblique strain.

San Francisco stretched its NL West lead over Los Angeles to three games with RBIs from Wilmer Flores, Austin Slater, and LaMonte Wade Jr. For the third time this season, the Dodgers were shut out.

Johnny Cueto (7-4) was victorious for the first time since June 25. Over 5 2/3 innings, he struck out five batters while walking two and allowing four hits.
Jarlin Garcia, Dominic Leone, Tyler Rogers, and Jake McGee combined for three-thirds of an inning of perfect pitching and six strikeouts to complete the Giants’ 12th shutout.
In 4 1/3 innings, San Francisco pounced on David Price, scoring four runs (three earned). He’s 0-3 versus the Giants in his career.
Crawford’s first-inning double to left drove home the Giants’ first run since he was placed on the 10-day disabled list for nine games. Flores drove in a run with an RBI double in the second, and Slater drove in a run with a single in the fourth.
When the Dodgers loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth inning, they were down 4-0, but southpaw Garca struck out Cody Bellinger on three pitches to finish the inning.
Wade added an extra run for the Giants in the eighth inning with an RBI double, his first career hit against a left-handed pitcher. He had previously gone 31 games without a hit.
