Tyler Herro may be one of the Miami Heat’s most popular players, but he’s already proven he’s not ready as a starter, and his offensive performance has left a lot to be desired lately.
Guerro, 21, has shown he has what it takes to become one of the greats. His performance during Heath’s trip to the NBA Finals last year was historic for a player his age. He scored 37 points in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.
Since then, HerrO has partnered with Chipotle to promote his own Tyler HerrO’s Bowl, released a cereal called HerrO’s Fruit Hoops, and been named the official day of the week – Tyler Tuesday – on the Miami Heat’s official Twitter page. It’s worth noting that neither Bam Adebayo nor Jimmy Butler’s All-Stars have official weekly holiday joke days.

It’s not fair to blame all of Heem’s problems this season on Guerro, and his problems can be characterized as a second-half slump. He has shown excellence in a few games this season, but his lack of consistency while Adebayo and Butler are peaking in the offense is understandably disappointing.
Miami seems to have held back on giving Guerro an excellent reception this season, but that doesn’t mean their unwavering confidence won’t pay off at some point.
On Monday, Winderman noted: Did Pat Riley overestimate his value at the end of the exchange? Of course, that’s what leaders do when they’re trying to create value. On Sunday (against the Nets), it wasn’t so bad. He was still playing, rebounding and not committing a turnover.
Pat Riley still has high hopes for Guerro

For many Heat fans, it was embarrassing to hear that there were concerns about Guerro’s celebrity status in Miami, as Heat president Pat Riley seemed to be the one who mainly supported him.
Guerro was considered untouchable until the trade deadline, and there is still talk on Twitter that Miami wouldn’t get James Harden because Riley insisted Guerro was too good to pass up. The real reason the Harden deal didn’t go through is because the Houston Rockets asked all of the Heat’s young talent, including Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, Precious Achiuwa and a bunch of future draft picks, for a deal, not just Guerro.

After Riley boasted in March that he had confidence in his young star, it’s clearly a blessing, Guerro said. And it was nice to know that the general manager of the team and the president of the team [appreciate] what I’m doing now, and the rest of our young guys. I just need to keep working and getting better every day. That’s what counts.
