From Life influencer Lee McMillan has committed suicide at the age of 28.

The social media star, known for documenting her travels and road trips, was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Santa Barbara on Friday after being reported missing.

On the 26th. In March, Santa Barbara police issued a press release stating that Ms. Lee had left her home without her wallet, keys, cell phone, ID and car: McMillan suffers from depression and has expressed suicidal thoughts in recent months.  McMillan has recently made specific statements suggesting that she would have intended to do something to herself. ‘

Unfortunately, on the 29th. March confirmed that Lee was the previously unidentified woman who died on the 26th. March died on the train.

An Instagram post on Lee’s personal page and @maxandlee_, which she shared with her ex-boyfriend Bidstrup, indicated that the star was battling depression.

It reads as follows: After living an extraordinary life and fighting a courageous battle against depression, we are deeply shocked by Lee’s suicide on Friday. She was the most radiant light, a magnetic force of nature and loved by many.

If we can do anything for Lee now, in the midst of this mental loss, it is to spread the message that mental health is just as real as physical health and that illness can affect anyone, no matter how unlikely it seems. It is normal not to be normal, it is normal to ask for help, it is absolutely necessary to ask for help.

Lee was an advocate for mental health. She was open and honest about her own difficulties. She got help: from professionals, from her family, from her friends. There was support all around them. She wasn’t alone, she wasn’t going to fight alone. And yet she succumbed to this terrible disease. It is more complex than we can appreciate or understand.

Life is more complicated than a post on social media. It’s complicated. Don’t believe what you see on the internet. Go out into the world and talk to your loved ones. Sign it. Really ask them how they’re doing. Be prepared to help. Listening. To offer help. Remove the stigma of asking for help.

Let’s spread the word, for Lee and everyone who needs to hear it: #speakupforlee

And hold on to your loved ones. Tell them you love them. Because life can change in an instant. We will miss her with every fiber of our hearts.

Max, who divorced Lee in January 2020 but remains close to her, wrote on his personal Instagram page: ‘It was always you ❤️ You were the best thing that ever happened to me. You were the best person I ever met. I fell in love with you the day we met, but you were even stronger and said I love you first. I never stopped loving you, Highlander, I hope you know that.

I will always cherish my time with you in this world and hope to see you again in the afterlife ✨ Leave some mini eggs for me.

Lee’s friend Jordan Chiu wrote on his Instagram page: You were a dream beyond my wildest dreams. You have filled my heart to the brim and stretched it further than I could have imagined. You were my husband, my partner, my best friend. Every day with you was an adventure, and I hope wherever you are, you have found peace and comfort. Rest, pup. I love you more than you’ll ever know.

In February, Lee and Jordan completed repairs to the van they would use to go on tour.

Youtuber Lee has spoken openly about his struggle with mental illness. In October 2020, she revealed that after months of taking antidepressants, she is no longer taking them and is undergoing cognitive behavioral therapy.

Her father said she struggled with cyberbullying, and days before her death, Lee was the target of a gang beating after she was roasted in a YouTube video.

Will told 7NEWS: He started the story by posting the video two days before his suicide. With Lee and YouTube, you have a 20-minute idea of what they want you to see, but you don’t have the whole story.

I’m at my wits’ end with these guys.

Plus: Mental health

A GoFundMe page has been set up in Lee’s memory to raise awareness of mental illness and combat cyberbullying.

Lee and Max met on an Aussie Max trip to Canada, and began traveling extensively with Max’s dog, Occy, and bought and renovated a van.

Their joint Instagram account now has nearly 500,000 followers.

After being divorced last year, Max returned to Australia four years later and Occy was sent home later that year.

Despite the breakup, the couple continued to support each other and share content on their respective Instagram and YouTube channels.
