Netflix has announced the DOTA : Blood of the Dragon came out of nowhere and drove two Dota fans around the world crazy. But social media can be a very noisy but uninformative place. That’s why we’ve gathered everything you need to know about DOTA from Netflix : Dragon’s blood in one place. This includes release dates, trailers, plot and context.
DOTA: DRAGON BLOOD AIR DATE: 25. MARCH 2021
DOTA: Blood of the Dragon will be released on the 25th. March 2021 on your Netflix screens. Before then, Netflix is dropping two more trailers. The trailer will air on the 19th. February. The final and full trailer will be released on the 2nd. March 2021. We will include these teasers in this article when they come online, so be sure to check them out.

The Netflix ad for the series says
After meeting the dragon and the princess on their own mission, the dragon knight becomes involved in events on a scale he could never have imagined.
The mention of the princess clearly refers to Mirana, another Dota 2 heroine. Based on this commercial and the trailer, we can expect some sort of origin story for the dragon knight Davion. DOTA: The dragon’s blood could depict the events that led to the mixing of Davion’s blood with the legendary earthworm. Their mixture of blood allows Davion to transform into an older dragon.
Other than that, we don’t know much about it yet. We’ll have to gather more information when it comes out in the next trailers.
IS WORKING ON DOTA: DRAGON BLOOD?
Fans need not worry that the series does not follow the original material. After all, Valve is directly involved in the development of the series. Moreover, from what we know so far, it seems that history will remain true to its source. We can infer this from the official Davion story in the game:
After years on the trail of the legendary earthworm, the experienced dragon slayer had to face a disappointing opponent: The dreaded Slyrak had grown old and frail, his wings mutilated, the few scales left by a scaly mouth, his fangs shredded, and his fiery stride no more menacing than a pack of wet matches. Seeing no honor in killing dragons, the young knight prepared to turn away and let his old enemy die in peace. As their blood mingled, Slyrak sent his power through the Bloody Way, giving the knight all his strength and centuries of wisdom. The death of the dragon sealed their union and the Dragon Knight was born. Ancient power slumbers in the knight and awakens when he calls; or perhaps it is the dragon that calls the knight….
As for the production side of the series, DOTA : Blood of the Dragon is hosted by World Studios (Legend of Korra, Legends of the Death Bomb) : Scorpio’s revenge, Voltron: Legendary defender). DOTA: The showrunner of Dragon’s Blood is Ashley Edward Miller (Thor, X-Men: First Class). There seems to be a really good team working backstage, so chances are this show will be great.
CONTEXT FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT PLAY DOTA 2
DOTA: Blood of the Dragon only adapts a small part of the legend of Dota 2. If you don’t already know, all you need to know is that Dota 2 is one of the most popular sports games in the world. It attracts more than half a million players a day and continues to grow after more than a decade on the market. Dota 2 also offers the highest prize pool in the sport with its first annual tournament: International.
Dota 2 belongs to the multiplayer online combat arena genre, also known as MOBA. It is the same genre as other popular sports titles like League of Legends, Mobile Legends : Piffle Puff and Newert’s Heroes.
